New Edinburgh Ltd was granted Outline Planning Permission by Scottish Ministers on 11 April 2003 for the development of 'offices and other business uses, hotel and supporting facilities with associated roadworks and car parking'.

The land area extends to 34 acres and New Edinburgh Ltd intend to undertake higher density mixed use development at the Southern end of Edinburgh Park of up to 201,000 sq m (2,160,000 sq ft) of accommodation. This development will span a further 15-20 years.
